Michael Lamb’s healthcare career had a humbling, challenging launch: serving a two-year stint as director of Belleville long-term care facility. That experience gave birth to his mission to compassionately and consistently make a difference in the lives entrusted to his care and exceed the expectations of each and every one of the patients, visitors, staff, physicians and even the vendors he comes in contact with.
His ability to connect with people on a personal basis and build unique experiences makes everyone affiliated with or visiting Sterling Surgical Hospital feel cared for. He’s known for his recruitment prowess, and his accessible, open-door policy is legendary. (He even replaced his wooden office door with glass when he was hired.)
Though much of healthcare has to be standardized, Lamb finds that making room for creative thought and approaching old processes with a new perspective has made a huge difference at Sterling, He’s helped build its reputation as a unique, boutique hotel where you just happen to come to have surgery.
Born and raised in New Orleans—with a Bachelor’s in Public Health and Master’s in Health Administration from Tulane University—Michael and his wife, Ellie enjoy spending time with their pets and running in City Park or the lakefront.
