Liljedahl came to Sterling after 17 years as a machinist and 20 years in biomedical equipment repair, so his extensive background and wide-ranging mechanical skills make him an ideal facilities manager for the hospital.
Under his leadership, everything from the OR tables to the autoclaves down to the A/C and the elevators are all constantly monitored and certified in top working order. In addition, he’s responsible for oversight on the emergency preparation plans and all back-up power generators. He’s quickly become a valued part of the staff and says the comfortable and cooperative environment of the whole Sterling team has been unlike any he’s experienced in his career.
Liljedahl has two grown daughters and twin grandbabies. He enjoys tooling around to car shows in his ‘69 Chevelle and his best vacation is a toss-up between the beach and the mountains.
